SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) elastomeric modified bitumen membrane, also known as 'Torch on Roofing', shows distinct advantages over the previously more common flat roofing method of asphalt and gravel.

In asphalt and gravel application, it can be very difficult to create a proper seal at all seams and connection points. This can cause a roof to leak early in its lifespan, requiring much more maintenance. When installed correctly, SBS membranes are either seamless, or have seams as strong as the body. They resist expansion and contraction and reflect UV rays, reducing wear and cooling costs.

Easy to work with and repair, the SBS roofing system is also double layered for extra strength. SBS roofing systems bond directly to the top of a building, allowing a lighter roof. This gives architects and designers freedom to explore new lines and designs.
